Battery grade lithium hydroxide (chemical formula: LiOH · H ₂ O, CAS number: 1310-66-3) is a white crystalline powder or small monoclinic crystal with strong alkalinity, corrosiveness, and hygroscopicity, which easily absorbs carbon dioxide and moisture from the air. Its molecular weight is 41.96, melting point is about 471 ℃, density is 1.51-2.41 g/cm ³, slightly soluble in ethanol, and easily soluble in water.
2. Core application areas
Lithium ion battery cathode material: mainly used for preparing ternary cathode materials (such as NCM, NCA) and high nickel cathode materials, it is a key raw material for new energy vehicle power batteries and energy storage systems.
Other industrial uses: It can be used as an additive for alkaline battery electrolytes (increasing capacitance by 12%~15%), a raw material for lithium based lubricants (high temperature and corrosion resistance), and a carbon dioxide absorbent.
